At Kestrel Wealth Management, we take a holistic, comprehensive approach to your finances. We build a unified strategy that considers every aspect of your financial life, helping you make intentional decisions, gain clarity, and confidently pursue both your short- and long-term goals. It serves as the foundation for addressing the broader financial considerations that extend beyond investments alone.

We work with clients to identify the level of risk they’re comfortable with and ensure their entire financial plan—from investments to retirement and major goals—aligns with those preferences. This way, your plan is designed to pursue your objectives while staying within your comfort zone.
We do not draft legal documents ourselves. Our role is to help clients develop ideas, identify planning needs, and coordinate with your attorney—or recommend one if needed—to ensure trusts, wills, and other estate planning strategies align with your overall financial plan.
If your child doesn’t use the 529 plan, you have several options. You can change the beneficiary to another family member, use the funds for other eligible education related expenses, or withdraw them for non-education purposes (earnings may be subject to taxes and a penalty). Under certain rules, some unused funds may also be rolled into a Roth IRA for the beneficiary, and scholarship amounts can be withdrawn without penalty.
